Loss Damage Waiver
What is the Loss Damage Waiver (LDW)?
-
The LDW is not insurance. It is a partial release of responsibility to pay for damage or loss to your 66Trailers rental in exchange for a stated monthly fee.
-
A service that covers damage or loss of your rental trailer(s) from Covered Events (as defined in our terms and conditions) due to traffic accidents.
-
The LDW is a damage waiver and is not insurance; it does not cover cargo, towing/storage, property damage, personal injury or other losses typically covered by insurance.
Why should I purchase the LDW?
-
The LDW satisfies 66Trailers' requirement to add comprehensive/collision coverage for your rented trailer(s).
-
No-hassle settlements - Just pay your deductible and submit the required documents, we handle the rest.
-
For owner operators or small companies, the LDW is often a cheaper alternative to comprehensive/collision (physical damage) coverage.
What if I decline the LDW?
-
No problem - you will be required to add comprehensive/collision coverage to your insurance policy in the amount of the full replaceable value of the rented trailer(s), as determined by 66Trailers.
What are the requirements for the LDW?
-
You must be compliant with all terms and conditions of your rental agreement, including being current on all payments.
-
You must notify 66Trailers in writing within 72 hours of an event of loss.
-
You must provide a copy of the police report to 66Trailers, as well as any other documentation reasonably required to process your claim.
-
LDW coverage terminates immediately if the Lessee defaults on any terms or conditions of their rental agreement.
What does the LDW not cover?
-
Lessee's gross negligence, willful misconduct, intentional acts, or operation of Equipment in violation of applicable law.
-
Towing and storage charges
-
Tire theft and/or damage
-
Cargo
-
Lost or missing equipment
-
Contamination from cargo
-
Damage and/or loss arising from natural disasters or weather events
